CRUX OF THE PROCEDURE:
Purpose:

To outline the guidelines for managing health aspects during emergencies at LCPL Site.

Scope:

Covers first aid treatment, medical involvement, and further treatment arrangements for employees, contractors, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
  • General Manager HR & IT: Ensures emergency health plans are in place and coordinates with hospitals.
  • Departmental Heads: Ensure proper arrangements for medical assistance in case of injury.
  • HSE & Technical Training Manager & Occupational Health Physician:
    • Identify potential injury scenarios.
    • Define first aid and treatment procedures.
    • Conduct emergency drills twice a year.
    • Ensure proper training for emergency responders.
  • Medical Centre & Ambulance Services: Evaluate resources, medication, and staffing to handle emergencies.
  • Shift & Senior Managers: Ensure timely medical treatment, incident reporting, and accident investigation.
Emergency Handling:
  • Minor injuries: Treated at the Site Medical Centre.
  • Serious injuries: Sent to hospital via site ambulance with paramedic support.
  • Incident Reporting: Logged in the HSE incident reporting database.
  • Communication & Family Support: Families are informed, and visits to injured persons are arranged.
Training & Documentation:
  • All employees must be trained on emergency response.
  • Engineering personnel must be trained in electrocution safety.
  • Emergency response procedures are reviewed annually.

This procedure ensures a structured approach to handling medical emergencies at LCPL, emphasizing preparedness, training, and efficient response mechanisms.
